Who are you people? and please tell me you not one of those people who is short selling their house or late on their mortgage payment, but still spending $450 per child on christmas gifts. that is absolutely ludicrous. i spend $50 per child. i tell them to make a list of things they would like that are less than $10 and they always come up with amazing lists and are always happy with what we get them. for example here are a few of the christmas list items i received this year 14 year old asked for a bansai tree to try and grow on his own ($2.95 for the plant and $4.00 for the pot) and some cans of coconut juice (3 cans for $2.40) my 8 year old asked for something homemade ($3.95 for yarn for a knitted hat) and a really soft pair of sweatpants ($7.99 at kohl 4 year old asked for some origami ($4.99) and a hoola hoop ($4.00). the big ticket item this year was a longboard for my 14 year old that i purchased from craigslist for $30. kuddos to those of you who are sticking to less than $100
